Martha Rebecca Sanders Johnson
Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary

Martha Rebecca Sanders JohnsonA godly life ended peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2011, when Martha Rebecca Sanders Johnson was taken from us at home surrounded by her family at 5:15 a.m.. The Lord took her from pain. There are three steps to heaven-OUT OF SELF, INTO CHRIST, and INTO GLORY. She has taken these steps.

Martha was born July 25, 1921, in Galveston, TX to the union of Joseph Richard Sanders, Sr. and Tillie Ardellia Sanders. She was educated in the Galveston School system and graduated for Central High School. She was retired from Thomas J. Lipton Tea Company after 37 years of dutiful service. She was also a member of Shiloh A.M.E. Church in Galveston, prior to moving to Houston.

On July 16, 1950, she married R.L. Johnson in Galveston, by the late Rev. Q.C. Foster. To this union one child, Lois Robernette, was born. Mrs. Johnson also has one son, Phillip Reginald, from a previous union.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, James Arnold, Bernard William and Joseph Richard, Jr.

She leaves to cherish memories, her son, Phillip Reginald Williams of Dallas, TX; daughter,               Lois Robernette Johnson Wheeler of Missouri City, TX; grandchildren: Jason Reginald Williams- Seattle, WA,   Jamahl Christopher Williams (Shana)- Dallas, TX and Kevin Marshall

Wheeler II (Cristina)-Missouri City, TX: great grandchildren; Jazman Davis, Jayden, Journee,                                   Nigel and Justin Williams, and Ronin Wheeler; a host of nieces, nephews other relative and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2011, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Leo Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
