Texas City’s Coach Finn Resigns
TEXAS CITY - After 21 years with the Texas City Independent School District, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Tim Finn announced his resignation today. Coach Finn will continue in his role until his resignation becomes effective on June 30, 2012. The administration will begin the process of seeking a replacement.
With the move to the new high school facility, Coach Finn will be here to assist with a smooth transition. “I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Texas City ISD for the opportunity to serve as its Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for 11 years. I have received tremendous support from the administration, teachers, coaching staff, parents, and community,” Finn said. “Texas City is not just a great place to work, but a great place to raise a family. The Texas City community and school district care a lot about the children. I believe that our athletic department has helped mold and shape the kids of Texas City in a positive way the past 20 years.”
Coach Finn joined Texas City in 1991 as an assistant coach. For the last 11 years, he has served as head football coach and athletic director. During his time as head coach, Finn led the team to two district titles and one regional final. “I want to thank Coach Finn for his dedication to Texas City ISD and our student athletes,” said Co-Interim Superintendent Diane Martin. “We appreciate all of his efforts and wish him great success in his future endeavors.”
