The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to approve a consulting agreement with the University of Houston-Clear Lake for the 2012 Foreign Language Assistance Program Local Education Agency.
The partnership with the university will assist in the implementation of a two-way immersion program for sixth through eighth grade students. The university will assist in curriculum development, professional development and parent community training.
The cost of the program is $51,518, which will be paid through grant funds.
The school board voted to approve the 2012-2013 academic calendar for the district.
The school board voted to approve a $98,910 contract with PBK Architects for architectural services related to priority maintenance projects for the summer of 2012.
The projects include the replacement of air conditioning equipment and water piping at various campuses, as well as the replacement of a boiler at Clear Lake Intermediate School and foundation repair at Clear View Education Center.
