News Release
Thursday, December 15, 2011

Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in the 7000 block of South Gessner about 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 4.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, about 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall with an average build and muscular legs.  The suspect has black or brown hair and brown eyes.  A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release.

HPD Special Crimes Division Officer J.L. Kennedy reported:

The female victim, 54, was walking along South Gessner near Harwin when a suspect in a sport utility vehicle approached her.  The vehicle, described as possibly a Ford Bronco or Chevrolet Tahoe, was maroon with a maroon cloth interior.

The suspect forced the woman into the vehicle and drove her to a nearby vacant parking lot where he physically and sexually assaulted her.

At some point, the woman was able to escape and run to a nearby apartment complex where she was able to call for help.

It is unknown at this time if the suspect is linked to any additional sexual assault cases.

Anyone with information about this case or any possible related cases is urged to contact the HPD Sex Crimes Unit at 713-308-1180 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
