The West Gulf Maritime Association has posted an update on fog conditions on the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast for its members.
Fog Closures:
Status of closures due to fog as reported by local pilots this morning
Lake Charles – Boardings suspended
Beaumont - Boardings suspended
Port Arthur – Boardings suspended
Sabine – Boardings suspended
Galveston – Resumed boardings 16/0200
Texas City – Resumed boardings 16/0200
Houston – Resumed boardings outbound 16/0200, inbound 16/0600
Freeport – Resumed boardings
Agents are encouraged to contact pilot dispatch to receive local status updates. Also to keep vessel ENOAs current.
Channel obstructions:
Sabine:
The Sabine/Neches waterway remains closed due to dense fog. Traffic is scheduled to move outbound when the fog clears.
Galveston:
Channel closure for removal of dredging subline that extends from Pier 35 (POG) across channel to Pelican Island, December 15, 1000-1700.
Houston:
The Dredge R.S.Weeks inking 900 feet of 30" submerged dredge pipeline on December 19, 2011, 0900. The submerged pipeline will lay across the Houston Ship Channel below the -47' channel depth approximately 1,350 feet NNW of channel markers Red #82 and Green #81 at Lat. 29 38 9.6636 N, Lon. 094 57 45.0564 W. to Lat. 29 38 6.986 N. Lon. 094 57 54.3412 W.
Mammoet will be performing a ro/ro operation at the Cedar Bayou Port facility on December 28, 2012.
Freeport:
Daylight restricted vessels: First pilot 0730, Last pilot 1730.
Effective November 6, 2011: First pilot 06:30, Last pilot 16:30.
