DeJean Appointed to Gulf Coast Center Board
GALVESTON, Texas – The Gulf Coast Center, mental health authority for Galveston and Brazoria Counties, announces the appointment of Karen DeJean to the Board of Directors.
Karen DeJean, representing Galveston County, is a resident of Dickinson, is a psychiatric nurse and long time Gulf Coast Center and NAMI volunteer. Employed in senior management at a private hospital, DeJean has served on the Center’s community Jail Diversion Task Force and was formerly the Administrative Director for the UTMB Galveston Department of Psychiatry.
DeJean replaces long time board member David Harrington who was term limited after serving 10 years; the maximum number of years a person can serve under Galveston County Commissioners Court board appointment requirements.
DeJean joins board members Jamie Travis, Caroline Rickaway, Mary Lou Flynn Dupart and Trey Picard, Brazoria County, and Gerald Mitchell, Jim Floyd, David Walker and Robert Flick, of Galveston County.
