Brazoria County
Pearland January 14 Runoff Election
by Garrett Bryce
Friday, December 30, 2011

Pearland will kick off early voting in the City Council Position 5 runoff election on Tuesday, January 3.

The race is between Kevin Cole, an employee benefits broker, and Greg Hill, an attorney. Cole and Hill received the top votes in the December 3 special election for the position. However, neither Cole nor Hill received a clear majority of the vote to be declared winner in the three-way race that included Gary Bucek.

The winner will fill an unexpired term on the city council that will be left by Ed Thompson, who is vacating the seat to seek state office.

Early voting locations will be at the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3, Place 2 Courtroom at 2436 South Grand Boulevard, and at the Westside Event Center at 2150 Countryplace Parkway.

Voting continues through January 10, and includes open polls on Saturday, January 7. Election Day is January 14.
