Guadalupe "Lupe" Salinas Hamlet, 60, passed away January 5, 2012 after a brief unexpected illness. Lupe has been a Communication Supervisor for the City of Hitchcock Police Department since 1988. She is a faithful member of the Holy Family Parish, (St. Patrick's and Sacred Heart Churches). None the less, she was a caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Lupe will always be remembered for her helpfulness to others and most of all, for her Gift of Life, to UTMB's Donor Transplant Program.
Lupe was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Salinas; son, Ray Anthony Hamlet; and grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Marie Salinas; daughter, Tabitha Hamlet Flisowski; granddaughter, Jessica Rae Flisowski; grandson, Anthony Rey Calderon; brothers, Michael Salinas and wife Sharon, Richard Salinas; sisters, Rita Rekoff and husband Ronny, Theresa Silliman and husband Carlos, Cynthia Martinez and husband Thomas and Patricia Salinas Reza; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers: Ronny Rekoff, Carlos Silliman Sr., Robert Castillo, Cory Rekoff, Christopher Silliman, and Marcus Cuevas. Honorary Pallbearers: Chewy Calderon, Carlos Silliman Jr., and Ralph Salinas
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm, Sunday, January 8, 2012 followed by a Rosary at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home - Galveston at 6:30pm. A Funeral Procession from Carnes Brothers to St. Patrick Church will begin at 12:45pm, Monday, January 9, 2012, where mass will follow at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Lupe Hamlet Fund, in c/o Amoco FCU - Galveston.
