The Galveston Chamber of Commerce on Friday hosted a forum for the candidates in the Republican Primary for the 14th Congressional District of Texas.

Chamber Chair Vic Pierson introduced Dr. Ben Raimer, chair of the chamber’s Legislative Affairs Committee, who introduced the elected officials in the audience.  Listen: MP3 RealPlayer

Raimer explained the rules of the forum, then introduced the candidates; Felicia Harris, Randy Weber, Jay Old, Robert Gonzalez, Michael Truncale, Tim Day, Bill Sargent and John Gay.  Each spoke and answered questions from the audience. Listen: MP3 RealPlayer

The winner of the primary election will face former Congressman Nick Lampson, who is running unopposed in the Democratic Primary, in the November General Election to replace Congressman Ron Paul, who is not seeking another term in Congress.
