Ms. Clyde Johnson

Ms. Clyde JohnsonMs. Clyde Johnson age 104 of Galveston died Friday, January 13, 2012 at RegentCareCenter in League City.  Funeral services are 10:00 am Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at St. Paul’s UnitedMethodistChurch in Galveston, Rev. Jackie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at San Felipe Community Cemetery in San Felipe, Texas under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:30pm until 7:30pm at the funeral home.

Born March 17, 1907 in Sealy, Texas to William Taylor and Lue Ella Downey Taylor. She moved to Galveston at age 19. Ms. Johnson worked for the AK Fraternity House on the now UTMB Campus for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s UnitedMethodistChurch for over 80 years where she was active in the Methodist Women and served as a Communion Steward. She raised 5 sets of children and she has seen more things in her lifetime than we will ever see and accomplished more than we could ever dream of!

Survivors include sister, Beatrice Kesee of Sealy; daughter, Marie A. Lawrence; son, Edwin Johnson both of Galveston; granddaughter, Cynthia Campbell of Los Angeles, CA, Grandsons, Samuel Collins, II of Webster and Paul Lawrence of Dickinson; great granddaughter, Jochon Dobbins of Houston and great grandson, Samuel Collins, III of La Marque.

Pallbearers are Samuel Collins, II, Samuel Collins, III, Michael Amos and Archie Amos.
