Pearland Special Runoff Election
by Garrett Bryce
Monday, January 16, 2012

Greg Hill defeated Kevin Cole to claim the unexpired term for Pearland City Council Position 5 in a special runoff election on Saturday.

Hill received 1,270 votes, while Cole received a total of 689 votes.  In early voting, Hill took 867 votes to Cole’s 385.   In Election Day voting, Hill received 403 votes to Cole’s 304.

Hill will take the seat being left by Ed Thompson, who is resigning to run for Texas State Representative District 29.  Thompson was elected in May of 2010.  Council members in Pearland serve three-year terms.

Results of the election are not official until canvassed.
