Social media workshops for educators set for Jan. 30 or Feb. 28 at HCDE
University of Houston-Downtown collaborative visits Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and more
Learn more about using social media in education on Jan. 30 or Feb. 28 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Harris County Department of Education, 6300 Irvington Blvd., Houston, Texas. The collaborative called “Essential Technology Training for Teachers” is presented by the University of Houston-Downtown.
Facebook and Twitter are topics of a hands-on workshop on Jan. 30. Lessons include Facebook basics like creating a profile, making friends, status updates and wall posts and chats. Learn to share photos, videos and links.
YouTube, Podcast and Videocast are covered on Feb. 28. Explore key concepts and techniques for the video-sharing YouTube platform. Learn to build an account and to share with your social networks. DIscover the fundamentals of shooting and editing film for YouTube. The workshop includes Information about hardware and software requirements for planning a Podcast and Videocast, as well as details about recording, editing and storing files for download.
