NEW YEAR’S EVE MURDER SUSPECT WANTED
HOUSTON – Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit need the public’s help in tracking down a suspect wanted for the new year’s eve murder of Louis Ernesto Lopera.
On Saturday, December 31, 2011 at about 5:30 p.m. deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 5 responded to a disturbance call at 18014 Widcombe Drive in west Harris County. Patrol units arrived and found that Mr. Lopera had been shot multiple times. Mr. Lopera, 41, was transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital West Campus where he died.
Investigators with the HCSO’s Homicide Unit took over the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation. It was learned that the ex-husband of Mr. Lopera’s wife went to the home to talk to his ex-wife about their five-year-old daughter. An altercation ensued between Mr. Lopera and the woman’s ex-husband, identified as Louis Armando Rojas. During the altercation Rojas shot Mr. Lopera several times and fled.
Louis Armando Rojas, 24, is charged with murder and is currently wanted. A photo of the suspect is attached.
