The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to order an election for May 12 for the election of one at-large and three district positions on the board.
Trustee District Position 4 and Position 5, held by Page Rander and Dee Scott, respectively, as well as an At-Large Position held by Charles Pond, will be on the ballot.
Candidate filing begins February 4, and continues through March 5. Early voting will take place April 30 through May 8.
The school board voted to approve a joint election agreement with the City of Nassau Bay.
The agreement is to satisfy the requirements of legislation requiring school districts to hold joint polling places with either a city or county within their district on election day.
“The joint election agreement will maintain compliance, while both entities run their own elections, pay their own election officials and be responsible for their own election expenditures,” Superintendent Dr. Greg Smith said. “The agreement will essentially allow CCISD and Nassau Bay to share a polling place on Election Day with no further obligation.”
The school board voted to approve a contract with Galveston County for election services associated with the May 12 election.
The contract will provide for voting equipment and services, for a total of $17,700.
The school board voted to terminate an agreement with RBC Capital Markets, LLP for financial advisory services.
The school district was notified in December that the district’s financial advisory team at RBC Capital Markets was moving from the company. The team consists of Ryan O’Hara, Frank Ildebrando, and John Robuck. Smith noted that the team has provided advisory services to the district “for many years”.
All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
