Texas City ISD Board of Trustees

The Texas City Independent School District Board of Trustees, in a special meeting on Tuesday, voted unanimously to name Leland Surovik as athletic director and head football coach.

Surovik currently serves as athletic director at Columbia High School in West Columbia, according to a news release.

“We believe Coach Surovik is truly the right match for Texas City ISD,” Diane Martin, Co-Interim Superintendent of Schools said. “He is an outstanding coach and an experienced athletic director. He has developed a winning program in Columbia and we have confidence that Texas City ISD’s programs will advance to the next level under his leadership.”  News Release

The school board voted to approve, on second and final reading, revisions to a local policy regarding employment practices.  The revisions made adjustments to wording concerning posting and filing for vacancies at the district.

The school board voted to approve personnel matters as discussed during an executive session.

All items were approved.  All votes were unanimous with all members present.  Agenda
