Friendswood Police Arrest Child Porn Suspect
On Saturday, February 4, at 10:50 a.m., Julian Moya III, 38, of Friendswood, was taken into custody and is charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography and two counts of Promotion of Child Pornography. A Friendswood officer spotted Moya at a local bank. Friendswood officers conducted a felony traffic stop at Blackhawk Blvd and FM 528, where Moya was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation involving Moya began in late August 2011 and ended when a search warrant was executed at his Friendswood apartment on January 13. During the search warrant, a Friendswood investigator along with members of the ICAC Task Force that includes investigators from Pearland, Santa Fe, and the Department of Homeland Security, seized Moya’s computer. The computer was sent for forensic analysis and revealed several hundred illegal images. As a result of the forensic findings, warrants were issued for Moya’s arrest on February 2.
The Friendswood Police Department participates as a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The ICAC Task Force program was created to assist Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies by enhancing investigative response to offenders who use the Internet, online communication systems, or computer technology to sexually exploit children.
Moya’s bond is set at $120,000. He was booked into the Friendswood city jail pending transfer to the Harris County jail.
