This Week on Stage

Performances and Concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast region includes the opening of “It Runs in the Family” at Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson will present “It Runs in the Family”, opening Friday at 8 p.m.

“Set in a hospital, ‘It Runs in the Family’ contains the usual assortment of farcical nuts running in and out of doors mistaking everybody for someone else, as Dr. Mortimore tries to fend off a paternity suit, an ex wife, a punkish daughter and various other lunatics so that he may, at last, deliver the Ponsonby Lecture in an international conference,” said a synopsis on the Bay Area Harbour Playhouse web site.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  The production runs through March 11.

Main Street Theater continues the second play in the trilogy, “The Coast of Utopia” with “The Coast of Utopia: Shipwreck” at its Rice Village stage. 

Performances are on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m.  The production runs through March 18.

Beaumont Community Players continues “Almost, Maine”, with performances on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The production runs through February 25.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues its production of “The Seagull” this week.

Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Performances continue through March 4.

Port Arthur Little Theatre concludes its production of “MASH” this weekend, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Company OnStage in Houston concludes its run of "Hedda Gabler" this week.  Performances are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. 

Company OnStage also concludes its production of "The Princess and the Pea".  Performances are on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Upcoming performances include “The Coast of Utopia: Salvage”, which opens February 24 at Main Street Theater, and the Galveston Symphony Orchestra in concert at The Grand 1894 Opera House on February 26.
