Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to adopt a resolution consenting to the Port Arthur Navigation District Industrial Development Corporation’s financing agreement for the TOTAL Petrochemicals & Refining USA, Inc. project. Listen

The navigation district’s industrial development corporation will provide $150 million in facilities revenue bonds for financing of TOTAL’s ongoing plant expansion project at its existing site at 7600 32nd Street in Port Arthur.  The company will be liable for payment of the bonds.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the execution of a grant application for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s VAWA grant from the Criminal Division of the Texas Governor’s Office.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to execute an abatement agreement with Praxair, Inc.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to schedule a public hearing for February 21 to receive comments relating to the potential order of the commissioners court to vacate the Helena Road Extension from State Highway 366 to Helena Avenue.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding the issuance of a burn ban order.  No burn ban is in effect for the county.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  All members were present.  Agenda

The commissioners court will next meet on Tuesday, February 21, due to the President’s Day holiday.
