League City Acting City Manager/Assistant City Manager of Public Works Resigns
Rich Oller, acting city manager and assistant city manager for public works for the City of League City, submitted his resignation in an email to the Mayor and City Council on Monday. The email states that his resignation is effective immediately. He also informed the council that he is withdrawing as a candidate for city manager. Letter
“After discussing the matter with family and friends, I am unsure that I wish to make the long-term commitment League City deserves from its next city manager.” Oller said. “I cannot begin to tell you what an honor it has been to support you and to lead our City’s amazing staff for the last few months, and I am proud beyond words at our progress and achievements.”
Oller was named acting city manager in July 2011 after Marcus Jahns, the City’s first city manager resigned. Oller joined the city’s staff in October 2009 as interim director of public works. A few weeks later he was named director of public works. In May 2010, after organizational restructuring, Oller was named assistant city manager of public works.
