Gerald GuidryFuneral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Gerald Guidry, age 71, who passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Deacon Ken Arnaud, of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Guidry was a native and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Guidry was an avid motorcyclist. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Evadell Louviere Guidry of Lafayette; two sons, Jerry Guidry and his wife, Sharon, of Youngsville and Brian Guidry and his wife, Rhonda, of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Rachael Guidry and her fiancé, Brandon Lecompte, Savannah Morris, Jamie Guidry and Kristen Guidry; one brother, Randall Paul Guidry and his wife, Brenda, of Lafayette; and one sister, Linda Alleman and her husband, Kenneth, of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Lynn Guidry; and his parents, Andrus Pierre Guidry and the former Jeanne Fern Benoit.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Friday until service time on Friday.
