Cornyn Statement on the Anniversary of ICE Special Agent Jaime Zapata’s Death
WASHINGTON— Today U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement on the one-year anniversary of the death of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Jaime Zapata’s death:
“A year ago today, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agent Jaime Zapata tragically fell in the line of duty. As his family, Texas and the nation mourn Agent Zapata’s death, we should honor his memory and dedication to our country by bringing all those responsible for his death to justice.”
Senator Cornyn serves on the Finance, Judiciary, Armed Services and Budget Committees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee’s Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee. He served previously as Texas Attorney General, Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Bexar County District Judge.
