BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS ON IH 10 KATY CONNECTOR TO IH 45 NORTH
HAVE BEEN COMPLETED EARLY

“The Connector Ramp is Now Open for Traffic”

Houston – Crews have completed work on a segment of the IH 10 Katy Freeway westbound connector ramp to IH 45 North ahead of schedule and it is open this afternoon. The bridge is one of the oldest bridge structures in the Houston District and it had to undergo a unique repair to correct shifting of the roadway.

TxDOT engineers and contractors developed an innovative plan to repair the connector which had moved slightly out of place. TxDOT worked with Spring Equipment and NBG Construction to make the specialized repairs.

To make the repairs, specialized crews lifted a portion of the connector with large cranes and rotated it back into place. Additional repairs were made to strengthen the structure.
