Pasadena City Council on Tuesday voted 8-1, with Don Harrison opposed, to approve, on first reading, a $581,513 total guaranteed maximum price for renovation of the ballpark concession stand at Strawberry Park by Civil Concepts Construction, LLC.
The project is being performed under a construction manager at risk contract, with Civil Concepts Construction serving as construction manager at-risk. Council Member Phil Cayten discussed the cost of the project, stating that the amount of money proposed is not only for the building, but also for several other items, such as outdoor lighting, sewer, drainage, bleachers, fencing and scorekeeper booths.
Harrison said he felt the amount was “too high” and opposed the contract as well as the risk manager assigned to the project.
The city council voted unanimously to reject all proposals received for lifeguards and pool maintenance services.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on final reading, a $584,321 contract with Mar-Con Services, LLC for the Cotton Patch Drainage Project.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on final reading, a contract with Dorsett Brothers Concrete Supply Company, Inc. for the purchase of ready mix concrete for a period of one year.
The city council voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Deer Park for the collection of unpaid utility or garbage service fees.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
