FRIENDSWOOD, TEXAS - State Representative Larry Taylor (R – Friendswood) has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) and the Texas State Rifle Association’s Political Action Committee (TSRA PAC). Both groups have also given Rep. Taylor an “A” for his legislative voting record and his strong support of 2nd Amendment rights.
Rep. Taylor is a candidate for the State Senate in District 11 and is seeking to replace Sen. Mike Jackson (R – LaPorte) who is running for a newly created congressional district. Senate District 11 consists of Galveston, Brazoria and parts of Harris County. Rep. Taylor is the only candidate in the SD 11 race to garner the endorsements of the NRA & the TSRA.
Alice Tripp, Legislative Director of the TSRA, said, “Texas gun owners could not have a stronger supporter in the Texas Senate than Larry Taylor, a long-time and proven friend.” Tara Mica, NRA spokeswoman, said, “the NRA is proud to endorse Larry Taylor for Texas Senate. As an NRA member and Concealed Handgun Licensee, Larry Taylor knows firsthand the importance of protecting the 2nd Amendment and preserving our right to self-defense. And his record in the Texas House demonstrates his strong commitment to both.
Rep. Taylor said, “I’m a proud member of the NRA and am honored to receive their support as well as the Texas State Rifle Association. Protecting the 2nd Amendment, the right to personal self-defense, and the rights of my fellow hunters and sportsmen have always been a priority of mine and I’ll continue that leadership in the State Senate.”
Taylor’s campaign has also been endorsed by numerous other conservative organizations across Texas including Texans for Lawsuit Reform, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and Conservative Republicans of Texas. Rep. Taylor has also received the “Courageous Conservative” Award from the Texas Conservative Coalition and the “Champion of Free Enterprise” Award from the Texas Association of Business.
