GALVESTON, Texas – The 24th Annual Galveston Home & Garden Show will spring into action March 10 & 11, at the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort.

Randy Lemmon, host of GardenLine, KTRH 740 AM, will appear at the show on Saturday, broadcasting live during the morning hours. Back by popular demand, The Lazy Gardener, Brenda Beust Smith, will share “What’s Growing in the Lazy Gardeners Garden” and new this year will be Morning Dew Organics, Galveston County’s organic gardening headquarters, who will talk about how healthy soils, healthy plants and healthy people are all connected! In addition, dynamic speakers who will offer advice and guidelines for gardening and building green include Galveston County Master Gardeners, Houston Rose Society, The King’s Choice Landscape & Design, and Flamingo Gardens. Check out the benefits and weigh the options of building and renovating green with special presentations by the Galveston Historical Foundation, Green Revival and Gulf Coast Renewable Resources and learn how to beautify your home or workplace with fresh flowers from Connie Dryden of Island Flowers. Having difficulty with separation anxiety? Woof, woof! Mutts with Manners will offer basic obedience training demonstrations to help curb undesirable pet behavior and bring tranquility to your home.

Benefitting the Galveston Island Humane Society, a highlight of the show is the Pet Adoption Center located show central. Adoptions are completed at the show at a discounted rate, and each pet receives a complimentary 10 minute obedience training session. Your new best friend may be waiting for you.

Admission at the door: $7 per person, 14 years and younger $4. Under 5 years Free. Discount tickets are available at Kroger thru March 7. Parking is free. Hours are Saturday, 10 am – 6 pm. Preview the show at An Evening for the Animals: Cat Tails, Dog Tails & Cocktails, benefitting the Galveston Island Humane Society, Friday, March 9, 6 – 8:30 pm. The evening includes entertainment, silent auction and raffle, traditional BBQ, Mashed Potato Martini Bar, beer and wine. Each guest will receive a complimentary ticket to the Galveston Home & Garden Show. Dress is Island Casual. Tickets are $45 person, $85 couple. Cash bar.
