Family Fun on March 4
HOUSTON -- Houston families are invited to a school carnival type fundraiser for the Texas Parent Pac, the only political action committee organized by parents to support legislative candidates of both parties who support public education. Since 2006, the Texas Parent PAC has helped elect 23 new legislators favorable to public education. Carnival organizers want more!
“During the 2011 session Legislators cut more than $5 billion from public schools,” said Nancy Lomax, who chairs the carnival planning committee. “That’s unacceptable! The future prosperity of Texas depends on the education our children receive now.”
“We hope parents across Texas will come together to elect new state legislators who will advocate for the world-class public schools that the 4.8 million Texas children deserve,” said Martha Meyers-Hamilton, whose two daughters attend HISD schools.
The family carnival will include the usual fun activities and light refreshments. FREE admission. Tickets available for food and activities. Bring the whole family -- fun for all ages. The Family Fundraiser takes place on
