LIT will receive recognition for campus master plan
BEAUMONT – Lamar Institute of Technology will receive a plaque in honor of its inclusion in American School & University during its annual Advisory Committee Meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23.
Shad Comeaux, urban/higher education planner with Freese and Nichols, Inc., of Fort Worth, will present the plaque to Dr. Paul J. Szuch, LIT President. He will also have a copy of the publication for LIT.
Freese and Nichols worked with LIT faculty, staff and students, as well as the community, to develop a master plan for improving the campus. The firm’s design was completed in November 2009.
LIT completed phase 1 of the plan this past summer, with a reconfigured parking area, new entry points and a unifying plaza area in front of the Beeson Building.
Freese and Nichols submitted the master plan to American School & University for consideration in its architectural portfolio. The plan was selected to be a part of its 2011 portfolio.
American School & University is an information source for education facilities and business professionals. Its mission is to continue serving as the voice of the industry.
