Hoping for advance on Ford Test Drive as Foundation fundraiser
Test drive Fords to raise money for TCISD

Cook Ford will hold a "Drive One 4 UR School" event at Texas City High School on Tuesday, March 6, to raise funds for the TCISD Foundation for the Future. The goal is to get 300 test drives in one day.

Since the program's inception in 2007, "Drive One 4 UR School" has offered 275,000 test drives at more than 1,500 events to generate more than $5 million in donations to schools nationwide. Ford will donate up to $6,000 to the Foundation.

"The test drives are free to all participants," said TCISD Foundation for the Future Executive Director Deborah Laine. "The more people that drive, the more we'll earn for Texas City ISD."

There is no purchase necessary for the school to profit. Every driver at this event will have the chance to win a 2013 Ford Escape.

The test drive event will be held in the parking lot at Texas City High School closest to Stingaree Stadium from noon till 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. For more information, email Mrs. Laine or call her at 409-916-0108.

BACKGROUND ON THE FOUNDATIONThe Texas City ISD Foundation for the Future was established to support the educational programs for both students and staff of the Texas City Independent School District. The Foundation provides funds for educational programs and activities which either have not been funded or have been underfunded by the normal operating budget. These funds are used to facilitate student achievement and skill development, to recognize and encourage staff excellence, and to expand community involvement of individuals, businesses and civic organizations.

We believe there is a strong correlation between the quality of life in our community and the quality of its educational system. Our vision is to enhance education in TCISD by working to increase private support for educational activities.
