On the Saturday afternoon of February 18, 2012, Annie Maer Martin answered her call for her just reward, to be with her Heavenly father.

Annie Mae was born September 4, 1922, in Galveston, TX to the union of Sophia and Sam Tanner. She attended public school in Galveston and graduated from Central High School. She was retired from UTMB after 30 years of employment. She was also a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher, in the Choir, with Senior Mission, and attended Sunday Scholl regularly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Martin, Sr.; son, Albert Martin, Sr.; sister, Dorothy McCowan; one uncle and two aunts.

She leave a legacy of love with her children: Clarence Austin (Marge) of San Augustine, TX; Rev. Ralph Martin, Jr. and Dennis Martin both of Galveston and Ralpheal Martin of Houston, TX; four grandchildren: Angela, Anthony, Dennis, Jr. (Monique), and Devin (Michael); one great grandchild: Daelin Michael; niece: Margaret McCowan; special friends: Georgia Basil and her children, Rosa Byars, Lela Snowden, Marie Pines, Jerusalem Gospelaires, her Jerusalem church family; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9AM on Friday, February 24, 2012, at Jerusalem Baptist Church followed by a life celebration at 11:00 AM with Pastor A.S. Johnson officiating, Rev. Ralph Martin eulogist. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
