Remembering Jim Guidry Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership
Galveston County
Santa Fe City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Friday, February 24, 2012

Santa Fe City Council on Thursday voted unanimously to authorize the mayor to execute a deed to Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District No. 8 for a 125,000 gallon storage tank.

The tank had been funded through the Texas Department of Rural Affairs Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program.

The city council voted to extend the employment agreement with City Manager Joe Dickson through December 31, 2013. The item was discussed during an executive session for Dickson's evaluation.

The city council voted to donate city-owned property along FM 646 to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The land will be used in TxDOT's project to widen FM 646 from FM 1764 to Highway 6.

The city council voted to grant a variance request for the subdivision of two lots on a 17.9 acre tract at the end of Davis Hall Road, abutting Avenue T and the unimproved portion of 19th Street.

The variance will waive a requirement for the subdivided lot to front an improved street.

The city council voted to authorize aerial spraying for the abatement of mosquitoes.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with council members Joe Carothers and Jim Abney absent. Agenda
