Wilda Lamb Guent

Wilda Lamb Guent was born on September 10, 1927 in Leonville, LA to Adam and Pauline Lazard Lamb. Wilda was a longtime resident of Galveston and retired from Galveston County Juvenile Detention Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Wilda passed away on March 6, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Lazard Lamb; father, Adam Lamb; husband, Joseph Hilary Guient; daughters, Shirley Guient, Barbara Guient Peterson; siblings, Joseph Lamb, Cleveland Lamb, Hilda Lamb Sonnier, and Victoria Henry; grandson, Darren Jacquo.

Left to cherish memories is her son, Joe Chester Guient; daughters, Donna Guient, Dwannah Guient Montgomery, and Janice “Choo” (Milton) Jones; grandchildren, Frenchette Guient, Klentrease (Crispin) Simmonds, Tomjalitha Lewis, Keith Jacquo, Donald Jacquo, Thomas (Katherine) Peterson IV, Trevor Peterson,Traniece Peterson, Glenn Montgomery II, Alexandria “Chili” Montgomery, Ronald Francis Jr., Cidney Jones, and Justice Jones; great-grandchildren, Ralph Norwood, Jabar Simmonds, Joshua Simmonds, Kennedy Simmonds, Mika Campbell, Ketera Jacquo, Taylor Peterson, Trenton Peterson, Cody Lee, Kobe Peterson, and Tristan Peterson; sisters, Bertha Lazard, Bessie Vallier, and Eva Lamb; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visistation will begin at 5PM on March 9th, followed by a wake from 7-8PM at Fields Johnson Family Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Partick Cathoic Church, with Father Maynard celebrant.. She will be laid to rest in Forest Park East Cemtery in Webster, TX.
