VICTORY MEDICAL CENTER BEAUMONT HAS A NEW C.E.O.
The Woodlands, Texas - Victory Healthcare founder, Robert N. Helms, has announced that Becky Ames will be the new C.E.O. for Victory Medical Center Beaumont, a 75,000 square foot facility being constructed on Dowlen Road.
Mrs. Ames, the Mayor of the City of Beaumont, is currently the Executive Director of Atria Collier Park, a licensed Assisted Living and Retirement Community in Beaumont where she has been for the past 16 years. A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, she moved to Beaumont in 1981. She has been Mayor since 2007. Prior to being elected Mayor, she was an At-large councilmember from 1994-to 2007 and Mayor Pro-Tem in 1995, 1997, 2003 and 2004.
Mayor Ames is a member of the National League of Cities, The United States Conference of Mayors, Texas Municipal League and the Texas Assisted Living Association. She serves on boards of the Julie Rogers Gift of Life, the Baptist Hospital Foundation, the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and Beaumont Main Street. She received the Athena Award from the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce in 2011, the Administrator of the Year from the Texas Association of Activity Professionals and the Better Business Bureau of SE Texas Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics in 2001.
Since being elected Mayor, Ames has initiated several successful projects and programs to improve economic development and quality of life in Beaumont. She spearheaded an overhaul of the City’s permitting process, which included opening the one-stop-shop in City Hall. The OSS provides one convenient location for business expansion and development projects to obtain information on permitting and zoning requirements, submit forms, and resolve issues. Mayor Ames’ commitment to customer service and accessibility resulted in the state-of-the art 311 call center, which helps Beaumont residents with non-emergency matters.
Under her watch, progress continues in making the city cleaner and more attractive. New brick sidewalks, decorative lighting, extensive landscaping and a concerted effort to fight litter, high weeds and graffiti have resulted in more welcoming streets and common areas.
Mrs. Ames will assume her duties at Victory Medical Center on May 14th and will oversee construction of the new facility that will be completed in late 2012.
