Fort Bend County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to transfer $2.2 million from the Commissioners’ Court Projects fund to provide additional funding for the courthouse preservation project.
The commissioners court on April 10 approved a contract with The George Foundation for a $2 million grant to assist in the restoration of the historic courthouse. The total project cost is estimated at $4.2 million.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the issuance of education revenue bonds by the City of Houston Higher Education Finance Corporation. The bonds will fund the construction of campuses for the Harmony School within Fort Bend County. There is no financial obligation for the county.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to appropriate $43,733 for the newly-created Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Commission. The money will fund the operation of the commission for the remainder of FY2012.
A professional engineering and survey agreement with LJA Engineers, Inc. for improvements to Chimney Rock Road from Cambridge Falls Drive to Acorn Glen Trail was pulled from the agenda. No action was taken on the item.

Special meetings of the board of the four new Fort Bend County Assistance Districts were pulled. Therefore, those meetings did not take place and no action was taken on items on their agendas.
