Seascape I – Street & Waterline Improvements

The Seascape I improvement project is a three year street and waterline replacement project. The existing streets are over 50 years old and built of asphalt type materials with numerous crack failures and are past due for improvements. The curbs are damaged, uneven and need to be replaced.

This project is a continuing effort of the Public Works Street Management Program to improve the neighborhood streets throughout the city. The existing 6-inch waterlines are old and made of AC (asbestos cement) type material that cause frequent interruption of service and water loss due to line breaks. These waterlines require frequent maintenance and need to be replaced.

Phase 1 will consist of paving and waterline replacement along South Flamingo Drive from the intersection of Todville Road to the intersection of North Flamingo Drive.

Phase 2 will consist of paving and waterline replacement along North Flamingo Drive and Hamblen Court.

Phase 3 will consist of paving only along Bay Club Drive and Tharp Avenue.

Street replacement will replace the existing asphalt pavement and concrete curb with 6-inch concrete pavement and 6-inch concrete curbs. Adjacent driveways along the street replacements will be removed and be replaced with 6-inch concrete up to the existing right-of-way.

Waterline replacement will replace the existing 6-inch AC water line with an 8-inch PVC water line and replace the existing water service lines to each customer along the main line to the meter.

This improvement project is currently in the design stage getting ready for the bid process with construction tentatively starting this summer in June or July.
