TFB AGFUND endorses Willett for Texas Supreme Court
(WACO) -- Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund (AGFUND), Inc. has endorsed Don Willett for the Texas Supreme Court, Place 2, in the May 29 Republican primary.
“Don Willett has served on the Texas Supreme Court with distinction since 2005,” said Kenneth Dierschke, president of AGFUND and Texas Farm Bureau. “He has an outstanding record for protecting private property rights. It is essential he be returned to the Supreme Court.”
Justice Willett was appointed by Gov. Perry in 2005 and elected for a full term on the Texas Supreme Court in 2006.
“His previous tenure as a former deputy Texas attorney general and assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice has given him a depth of experience greater than most other justices,” Dierschke said.
Justice Willett also worked in private practice at Haynes and Boone and has a degree from Duke University School of Law.
AGFUND is Texas Farm Bureau’s political action fund. It is a legal entity separate from the Texas Farm Bureau and may endorse and contribute to political candidates. AGFUND is funded by voluntary contributions from TFB members.
