Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to award a $1,049,470 contract to BDS Constructors, LLC, doing business as MK Constructors, for the Jefferson County Drainage District No. 7 Ditch Improvements Project.
The project will be funded by the Round 1 Texas Department of Rural Affairs Grant administered by the Texas General Land Office.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a price increase in the county’s term contract with Olmstead-Kirk Paper Company for paper stock and envelopes. The price change is due to recent increases in mill costs.
The commissioners court tabled action regarding a burn ban order for the county. There is currently no burn ban in effect for the county.
The commissioners court tabled action on the receipt and filing of the new Commissioner Court, Justice of the Peace and election precincts preclearance letter and Department of Justice submission binder and maps. The item was tabled as the binder and other information had not yet been received by the County Clerk’s Office.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize an interlocal agreement with Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6 for the Humble Camp Road Boat Launch.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to proclaim May as Older Americans Month in the county.
