BAKKHUS TAVERNA HOSTS PREMIERE ART SHOW FOR EMERGING ARTIST ISAAC “IKE”
RODRIGUEZ TO DISPLAY ORIGINAL WORKS, PRINTS

Kemah, Texas—Bakkhus Taverna will host an art show featuring the work of emerging artist Isaac “Ike” Rodriguez on Thursday, May 17 from 7 – 10 p.m.

Rodriguez, whose work graces the walls of Bakkhus Taverna, will display original works of art and will be available to discuss his technique and process for commissioned paintings. The event will feature live music, light refreshments, and the opportunity to meet the artist and learn more about his work. Bakkhus Taverna is located in the Kemah Business District at 605 6th Street, Suite A.

Information about the show is online at www.ikesartstudio.com. Social media users can also find the artist on Facebook.

Rodriguez is an emerging artist in the Houston Bay Area whose work has been commissioned by prominent sports figures, art lovers, and private collectors. Rodriguez began painting at age four, and painted as a hobby for many years until he started selling his work in 2006. His first commissioned painting was a portrait for Major League scout Mike Rosamond, who wanted a portrait of his son, Mike Rosamond, Jr.

Rodriguez has been commissioned to paint numerous portraits for private collections in the Houston area and beyond. He recently started working with Donnie Avery, formally of the St. Louis Rams and now the Indianapolis Colts, painting his portrait for his private collection. The May 17 show will be his first professional art show.

Bakkhus Taverna is a popular Greek restaurant and bar located in the Kemah Business District. Owner Demetrios Kouloumoundras has been a fan of Rodriguez’s work for many years, even commissioning the artist to paint the mural of the God Bakkhus that graces the restaurant’s front entryway.

Kouloumoundras said that he is pleased to be hosting the premiere art show for his friend and patron. “Ike is a great artist, and I’m happy to open my doors for him to display his work so other people can learn about him, and enjoy his work as much as I do.”
