THIS THURSDAY

FORUM HOSTED BY GREATER HOUSTON PARTNERSHIP, HOUSTON PUBLIC MEDIA, UH

Houston – With the Texas primary less than a month away, voters across Texas will have the opportunity to meet all major United States Senate candidates – both democrat and republican – vying to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison as they take part in a live, televised event.  The Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Public Media and the University of Houston are co-hosting this forum.

Republican candidates Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Solicitor General Ted Cruz, Mayor Tom Leppert, and Craig James and democratic candidates Sean Hubbard and Paul Sadler are all confirmed to participate. The forum will be hosted by KUHT-TV’s Ernie Manouse and moderated by KUHF-FM’s Laurie Johnson and Dave Fehling.

The two-hour live event – titled “Conversations with the Candidates” – will be available on public television and public radio across the state of Texas from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, May 3. In Houston, the program will be televised on HoustonPBS/Channel 8, broadcasted on KUHF News 88.7FM, and webcast by the Texas Tribune. It will be held at the studios of Houston Public Media on the campus of the University of Houston, 4343 Elgin St., before a live studio audience.

Media is invited to attend this event. A media room will be made available, where candidates who wish to take questions will be invited to do so.

For planning purposes, GHP and Houston Public Media request that you please RSVP as soon as possible, specifically if you need parking for a live remote truck.  Please RSVP to Micah Hirschfield at 713-844-3642 or mhirschfield@houston.org or to Emily Binetti at 713-743-1824 or emilyb@kuhf.org.
