Galveston Police Arrest Off-Duty Houston Officer
Houston Police Officer Charged with Indecent Exposure and Aggravated Assault

Galveston, TX – At approximately 12:30 AM today the Galveston Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Strand on a reported disturbance involving weapons. Officers arrived to find two victims, one stabbed and the other struck in the face with a pistol.

Witnesses reported that a male subject, identified as Houston Police Officer Miles Dumas, exposed his genitals to a group of men and women inside of a bar located at 2314 Strand. Dumas was confronted by the men of the group and then escorted outside by bar staff. The disturbance escalated outside with Dumas reportedly stabbing one man. A friend of Dumas was said to have struck another man in the face with a pistol. Both suspects fled the scene along another man, Michael Brady.

Both victims were transported to UTMB with what appears to be non life threatening injuries. Dumas was arrested a short time later for Indecent Exposure and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon with bonds totaling $41,000. Michael Brady has been charged with Failure to Report a Felony with a $7,500 bond. Charges are pending on the third suspect.
