Annual Eastside Job Fair
Houston – Congressman Gene Green announces the 10th Annual Eastside Job Fair being held Monday, May 14 at the Jacinto City Town Center from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Organized in partnership with Workforce Solutions, a human resources provider for the Houston-Galveston area, the fair will host 40 employers that are looking to hire for full and part-time opportunities available now.
Rep. Green stated, “We’ve seen our economy improve significantly over the last months but it will still be a long road to get back where we were. We hold two job fairs a year in support of our businesses and community and we hope they’ll find employment matches at our fairs.”
A joint press conference will be held at 10:00 am with welcoming remarks from Congressman Green, the Mayor of Jacinto City, Rachel Nunez, and Councilmember and CEO of Houston Works USA, Larry Green.
A wide variety of industries will be represented, and confirmed employers include: Coca Cola, Chevron Phillips, METRO, Harris County Sheriff’s Department, FedEx, HISD, Southwest Shipyard, Stevens Transport, Tex Trude, Turbo Fab, Whelan Security, Securitas, Houston Area Plumbing and Apprenticeship, Locke Protective Services, Manpower, Meador Staffing, Goodwill Industries of Houston, Flexi Compras, Driving Momentum, Allies Barton, Gulf Stream Marine, Job Sparks, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology, Houston Community College, Magnum Staffing, Omnibus Express, and Princeton Review.
In addition to job opportunities, Workforce Solutions will be offering assistance on interviewing skills and resume critiquing. Attendees should bring copies of their resume and dress professionally.
