Upcoming Hurricane Preparedness & District Town Hall Meeting
NOTE: LOCATION CHANGED TO FOREST ROOM
Council Member Mike Sullivan will be hosting a town hall meeting in Clear Lake on Monday, May 7th. This year we will be combining our usual efforts with city departments with those of the county, state and other emergency response organizations.
With the hurricane season soon arriving the Council Member would like to provide the residents of District E with the necessary tools in preparation for any such disaster. "Every year we learn and make improvements to our operations," says Sullivan. "I want my district to be ready and well informed should we experience a hurricane this year."
Along with city representatives covering district projects, the City's Office of Emergency Management, Harris County Office of Security & Emergency Management, TranStar, TxDOT, United Way and Disaster Recovery - Tree Removal Co. have been invited to attend. Representatives from these city departments and county branches will give brief presentations on their 2012 contingency plan for the city of Houston, and will be available to answer questions from the public shortly thereafter.
The Council Member urges residents to join him in Clear Lake, May 7th at the University of Houston Clear Lake's Forest Room from 6:00 to 7:30pm. The Forest Room is located in the university's Bayou Building.
