Jim Howard, Sr., 91, departed this life on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his residence.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. followed by funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock, TX with Pastor William L. Randall Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park.
Jim was born August 14, 1920, to Liverpool and Lodie Howard in Morrow, LA. He was an retired construction worker from Local 116 after many years of service. He loved his family, western movies, fishing, and playing solitaire, and his crown.
Preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Florence Preston and 3 siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beatrice Marie Howard; sons: Lawrence (Ida) Howard of Houston, TX, Jim Howard Jr. of Hitchcock, TX and Leroy (Sharon) Howard of Friendswood, TX; daughters: Sheryl (Michael) Jefferson of League City, TX, Mary Rose McGregor of Texas City, TX and Elsie Williams of Friendswood, TX; sisters: Lodie (Mitchell) Comeaux of Hitchcock, TX, and Lorena Chaney of Texas City, TX; brothers: Jack (Mary) Howard of Hitchcock, TX and Herbert Howard of La Marque, TX; 29 grandchildren; 42 great grand children; 12 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special sons: Calvin (Patty) McNeal and Leroy (Diane)Thibodeaux; and special cousin: Betty Noble of CA.
