GALVESTON’S GRAND 1894 OPERA HOUSE PRESENTS SUMMER THEATRE CAMP

GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS -- The Grand 1894 Opera House will present its second annual Summer Theatre Camp Monday, July 23rd – Friday, July 27th. To take place at The Grand, 2020 Postoffice Street in historic downtown Galveston, the Camp will be held from 12.30-5.30 Monday through Friday. Presented through a partnership between Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and The Grand, the Camp is open to students ages 7-16 at a cost of $245 per student.
If you know a child that enjoys performing for family and friends, this Camp is where they will want to be this summer! Led by actors and directors from MCT, as well as The Grand’s Camp staff, the Camp will consist of daily rehearsals and direction on acting, singing, and technical theatre; as well as theatre crafts and performance instruction. Extra bonus workshops are also presented by Missoula Children’s Theatre in addition to the scheduled camp hours. These workshops are included in the camp tuition and take place on July 24th-July 26th at 11am at The Grand. Workshops include topics such as “Let’s Make Up,” a theatrical make-up demonstration for students, “Creative Dramatics” and “Actor’s Tools.”
The Summer Theatre Camp is a week-long residency program and will conclude with a full performance of The Frog Prince at 7pm, Friday, July 27 – on stage at The Grand. Open to the public, family and friends are invited to attend the final performance.
