PERRY ENDORSES LARRY TAYLOR FOR TEXAS SENATE
Calls GOP Caucus Chairman “Most Qualified, Conservative Candidate”

HOUSTON - Before a crowd of nearly 300 business and civic leaders at the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership in Houston today, Governor Rick Perry endorsed State Rep. Larry Taylor (R – Friendswood) in the Republican primary for State Senate – District 11, a 3-county district made up of parts of Harris, Brazoria and Galveston counties.

Gov. Perry said, “Larry Taylor's conservative record in the Texas House has been crucial to upholding the principles of limited government, low taxes and restrained spending that have kept Texas at the forefront of the national economy.  As a small business owner, he understands the importance of these priorities to creating jobs and opportunity for Texans.  His effective leadership in balancing the state budget, reforming the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, protecting unborn life and crafting our state's Voter ID legislation will make him a valuable asset in the State Senate and I am proud to endorse him.”

Taylor’s campaign has also been endorsed by numerous conservative grassroots and civic organizations including the Young Conservatives of Texas, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility / Empower Texans, the National Rifle Association, the Texas Association of Business, Texans for Lawsuit Reform, Conservative Republicans of Texas, Texas Alliance for Life, Texas Association of Realtors as well as a coalition of more than 15 mayors from cities across Senate District 11.
