Fort Bend County
Fort Bend County Commissioners Court
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, May 08, 2012

Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted 3-2, with Commissioners Richard Morrison and Andy Meyers opposed, to approve a joint participation agreement between Fort Bend County Assistance District No. 2 and Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 194.

Under the agreement, the assistance district will reimburse payments made by the county and the utility district for the construction of an access road along the eastern side of the Grand Parkway north of West Bellfort.  The assistance district will reimburse the costs of the project through a one-percent sales tax it has levied.

The commissioners court, meeting as the Fort Bend County Assistance District No. 2 Board of Directors, voted 3-2 last week, with Meyers and Morison opposed, to approve the agreement.

The commissioners court voted 4-0-1, with Judge Robert Hebert abstaining, to appoint Justin Ring to fill the unexpired term of Michael E. Stone on the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 11 Board of Directors.  Stone’s term is to expire on Jun 14, 2014.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a letter of engagement from Jerry Dunbar, Dunbar Harder, PLLC, to represent the county and drainage district in potential litigation.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve $754,298 for the purchase of an emergency communications trailer and an incident support trailer for the county from Progressive Emergency Products.

The purchase will be funded through grant sources.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint County Engineer Richard Stolleis to represent the county as primary voting member to the Houston-Galveston Area Council Technical Advisory Committee.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
