One of the Island’s premier family friendly events takes place on Saturday, June 9th. The 11th Annual Gospel by the Sea Concert benefitting St. Vincent’s House is filling the Gulf Coast with joyful noise once more at First Presbyterian Church.
This year’s concert again will bring together excellent local talent and a special guest artist. Melanie Lawson returns to grace our stage as Mistress of Ceremonies. Joining us for another year to perform will be St. Vincent’s own preschool choir, Seeds of Tomorrow and Izola Collins and The Galveston Heritage Chorale. Other groups scheduled to perform are Shiloh AME Church (Galveston), Galilee United Methodist Praise dancers, Church of God in Christ District Choir, Greater Macedonia Baptist Church Choir (Texas City), El Latino Praise Team Ambassador Hope Steel Drummers and the First Presbyterian Praise Band. Additionally, back by popular demand are 11 year old Gospel Phenom, Jonathan Henry and the Gospel Workshop of America- Houston Mass Choir. Our special guest will be NuFocus from Dallas, TX.
St. Vincent’s House has provided direct services to working poor and poor families since 1954. Never before has the need been so great for the services they provide which include: a food pantry, sliding scale preschool, free clinic, transportation, emergency assistance, Hope Academy – A second chance High School.
