Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to authorize the creation of the Pearland Westside Branch Library, and authorized the District Attorney’s Office to enter into discussions with entities involved for all matters related to the creation of the new library branch.

The commissioners court voted to authorize the County Clerk’s Office to enter into an agreement with suitable vendors for the electronic filing of documents after consolation with and approval from the District Attorney’s Office.

The commissioners court voted to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Sweeney to furnish labor and equipment for the construction of a parking area at Sweeney Backyard Park.

The park is located off of FM 524 in the 1600 block of Main Street.  The city will reimburse the county for personnel and equipment costs exceeding $10,000.

The commissioners court voted to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Sweeney for labor and equipment to construct a 1,320 foot walking trail at the Backyard Park.

The agreement also states that the city will reimburse the county for costs above $10,000.

The commissioners court voted to terminate a lease agreement with the State of Texas for the lease of 120 square feet of office space at 210 West First Street in Freeport.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department leased space in the facility.

The commissioners court voted to furnish labor and equipment to water and disk the ground at the rodeo arena of the Brazoria County Fairgrounds to assist the Brazoria County Fair Association in preparations.

During the meeting, the commissioners court presented a proclamation in recognition of Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month.  Proclamation
