“Gift of Life” Dedicates Free Mammograms
in Loving Memory of the Late Mildred Yount Manion, a Beloved Supporter, and Her Mother, the Late Mildred Y. Manion

Beaumont, Texas – In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program dedicated a recent mobile mammography van site in loving memory of the late Mildred Yount Manion, a beloved supporter and legendary philanthropist, and her treasured mother, the late Mildred Y. Manion.

“It is an extremely moving and emotional day because I know Mildred’s spirit is with us,” said Regina Rogers, “Gift of Life” founder and chair. “She loved to come to the van sites she sponsored each year to be with the women whose lives she was enhancing through her benevolence.”

Through the generous support of Manion’s trust foundation, 34 medically underserved women received free “Gift of Life” clinical breast exams and mammograms on the UTMB Mobile Mammography Van at the Community Center in Beaumont.

“The ‘Gift of Life’ was one of Mildred’s favorite charities, and it meant so much to her to provide this lifesaving service to women in need,” said Manion’s trust officer, Joe Fisher, Jr., of Genesis Wealth Management, who attended the site to greet appreciative clients. “We are dedicated to continuing her generous support of the program.”

Since 2003, Manion, who passed away unexpectedly in April, sponsored an annual “Gift of Life” van site to commemorate Mother’s Day, providing nearly 350 free mammograms and helping extend the lives of women, whose cancer was detected at “Gift of Life” screenings.

“I am very, very grateful that the ‘Gift of Life’ makes it possible for women like me who don’t have insurance get their mammograms,” said Maria Alvarez, who received her free mammogram during the van’s visit. “It’s a blessing, and I hope it will be available for many years to come.”

The “Gift of Life” is currently accepting new client applications. FREE mammograms are provided to women with limited income and who do not have private insurance, Medicaid or Medicare.

To find out if you qualify for a free mammogram, please call the “Gift of Life” at (409) 860-3369 or toll-free at (877) 720-GIFT (4438).
