Pasadena City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, a $1,968,359 contract with Paskey, Inc. for the loop completion of an 18-inch water transmission line.
Council Member Don Harrison said the project will result in cost savings when the loop is completed.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on final reading, a settlement agreement with the City of Houston regarding “true-up” payments due for purchases made by Pasadena for water from Houston's Southeast Water Purification Plant for fiscal years 2007 through 2010.
The city council voted unanimously to cancel a contract with Texas Lawn and Landscape Services for landscaping and irrigation services.
The city council deferred action regarding the employment of Rogelio Benavides. All other employment recommendations were approved by the council.
The city council deferred action regarding the final reading of an ordinance authorizing contracts with MDN Enterprises, Morrison Supply Co. and ACT Pipe and Supply for the purchase of water and wastewater fittings and supplies.
The city council voted unanimously to accept a $49,980 grant through the Office of National Drug Control Policy for funding the major drug squads initiative of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas. The city will be reimbursed for expenses associated with investigator overtime, vehicle leases, aircards and fuel.
The city council voted unanimously to approve a grant application and agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for an $8,999 grant to conduct an occupant protection enforcement program as part of the “Click It or Ticket” program during the Memorial Day holiday. The safety belt enforcement program will be administered by the Pasadena Police Department.
