News Release
Friday, May 11, 2012
CLEAT Endorses Dr. Greg Bonnen
The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), the largest law enforcement organization in Texas representing 18,500 members across Texas, has endorsed Dr. Greg Bonnen for House District 24.
Charley Wilkison, CLEAT Director of Public Affairs, said, “CLEAT is pleased to endorse Dr. Greg Bonnen’s campaign because of his longstanding commitment to law enforcement and criminal justice issues, and his public position regarding issues that will impact the rank and file officers of the state.”
“I am honored to be supported by the men and women in law enforcement who keep our families safe. Our officers protect us each time they put on their uniform and they deserve lawmakers who will protect their ability to do their job,” Dr. Bonnen said.
Support for Dr. Bonnen’s campaign continues to grow, including endorsements from Texas Right to Life, Young Conservatives of Texas, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Texas Association of Realtors, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Hospital Association, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Association of Business, and the Texas Civil Justice League.
In addition to being a successful neurosurgeon and founding partner of Houston Physicians’ Hospital, Dr. Bonnen is the founder and President of the Texas Brain and Spine Center. A member of the Heritage Bank Board of Directors, he also devotes his time to missions with Builders without Borders of Texas, Friendswood Community Church, and the Medical Strategic Network. Dr. Bonnen and his wife, Kim, have lived in Friendswood for more than a decade with their two daughters.
